Thomas Gilbert assumed the role of consultant for advisory services of Gilbert Associates, Sacramento, where he is a founder and former shareholder. Gilbert founded the firm in 1984 with six employees and it has grown in 32 years to include eight remaining shareholders and 54 employees.
ILLINOIS
Karen Leavitt, Sandy Siegel and their staff have joined Weiss & Co., Glenview.
KANSAS
Theresa Dasenbrock has been appointed managing member, owner of Lewis, Hooper & Dick, Garden City, which she joined in 1987 and became a member of in 1987. She will be taking over for Gary Schlappe, who had been managing member since 2000.
MASSACHUSETTS
Carol Latorre was named tax manager of Rodman CPAs, Sudbury.
Andrea Stone was promoted to principal and member of the management committee of Tax Point Advisors, Boston. Stone, who also serves as the firm’s technical director, joined the firm in 2015.

Oreste Mosca, managing director of Nathan Wechsler & Co., Concord, was elected to the board of directors for the Associated General Contractors of New Hampshire.

Andrew Bowins was appointed to the newly created role of executive director of corporate reputation and digital engagement at KPMG, New York. Bowins will lead a team focused on integrating digital and social media and traditional communications to promote KPMG’s culture and reputation.

Deetra Watson was promoted to principal of Blackman & Sloop, Chapel Hill, which she joined in 2005 as a staff accountant and most recently served as senior manager in the assurance department.

Jewel Cooper was appointed, in a shared arrangement, as business development director of Boyer & Ritter CPAs and Consultants and the firm’s strategic partner LeTort Trust.
TEXAS
Daniel Boarder, Kimberly DeWoody, Lupe Garcia and Brian Mitchell have been partners of Whitley Penn, Dallas. Boarder joined the firm in 2014 as the managing director of transaction advisory services, DeWoody joined in 2007 as an audit staff. Garcia joined in 2007 as an audit staff and Mitchell joined in 2015 as the director of international tax.
