Workiva, which provides enterprise cloud solutions, and OpenGov, which makes performance tools for government organizations, have partnered to help state and local governments improve their budgeting and financial reporting processes. Accountants familiar with Workiva’s data aggregation and visualization platform Wdesk will be able to use the product with OpenGov Budget Builder and OpenGov Intelligence, which are designed to streamline budgeting, analysis and public disclosures.
OpenGov will offer Wdesk as part of its complete cloud-based budgeting solution, which will allow customers to then publish budget books based on their preparation done in OpenGov Budget Builder. The integration is also aimed to help government entities create comprehensive annual financial reports, quarterly management reports and other related documents required by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. Wdesk allows administrators to control access at all levels so that each user can create, edit and review data and documents that only relate directly to them.
Co-founder and CEO of OpenGov Zac Bookman stated that the addition of Wdesk enables his company to offer “a complete solution for analyzing and communicating complex public sector financial information to government employees, elected officials and the public.”
