Tax Law

March, 2015

Tax Law concerns those regulations, policies etc. that control taxation procedures. This covers the entire gamut of charges on estates, duties on foreign imports, transactions, income, compulsory levies, licenses etc. mandated by the government.

The Federal tax law is implemented through the Internal Revenue Service. The entire procedure of taxation in U.S.A. is governed by a tax code called the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. Other laws concerning federal tax are in Title 26 of the Code of Federal Regulations, other policy statements and regulations issued by the Internal Revenue Service as well as federal tax court decisions. Respective government authorities and state court decisions also govern tax law for state and local governments.
