Healthcare Bill

March, 2015

The Healthcare Bill, also known as the Affordable Care Act, is aimed at providing affordable health care services and benefits to millions of Americans by putting an end to unfair insurance practices. Those who have pre-existing medical conditions are the first group who will surely benefit from the Healthcare Bill. It has provisioned that no insurance providers can deny cover to people who have pre-existing medical conditions. Furthermore, the extent of its cover states that people who are up to 26 years old can still be included in their parents’ insurance policy. The Healthcare Bill might be bane to the insurance industry, but it is definitely a boon to consumers because another provision states that insurance providers cannot implement lifetime caps in policies, nor deny coverage when people get sick. It also includes establishing help desks and mobile health centres to speed up complaints against insurance companies and efficiently treat patients.
